Chaukhtatgyi Buddha
Only a short distances walk from the Shwedagon Pagoda you will come across the Chaukhtatgyi Buddha. Burmas version of a great reclining Buddha and the largest marble Buddha in the world.
The Chaukhatgyi Buddha has a crown on its head that’s studded with diamonds rubies and other gems. Theres seems to be no accurate measurents of how tall or long it is and instead is described as being over 2 ½ stories tall and perhaps 200 ft long. Taking a photo in one go is nearly impossible its so huge.
Its got a bit of a Bollywood feel to it, glitzy, gaudy and perhaps a little over the top, but amazing none the less.
